Last Saturday came and went and the weather stayed on our side. After the rain that hit us the previous weekend, I was relieved to have a bit of sunshine. Eensgezind in Durbanville was the venue for Tamlyn and Grants wedding on the 28th August. Before I go on about what a stunning couple they were, let me tell you a little bit about Ananda, she is the coordinator at this beautiful venue. It struck me right from the start that this young lady knows what she is doing. The venue looked stunning. The food was delicious. It all just gelled. Talking of people knowing what they want, Tamlyn and Grant were incredible to work with. They new exactly what they wanted, we had done a full reckie of the venue and the country side a few weeks earlier. This sorted out a lot of time wastage. I am sure that the photographs will talk for them selves. Here are a few of them for you to enjoy.

The weather has been very good to me this winter when it came to photographing weddings. Last Saturday the clouds opened and the rain came down. It ruined all the fun plans that I had for Candace and Terence. We had been up to their venue at the Steenberg Golf estate; everything was planned and then, down came the rain! We used all of the backup plans, but it wasn’t the same. Emma and her team from Steenberg made up for the wet weather with a scrumptious dinner. Here are a few of their images for you to see.

I could tell right from the start when we first met that Sam and Mark’s wedding was going to be a blast. You know that feeling that you get. This was to be the first of two weddings in a row at Christ Church Constantia followed by Steenberg Estate.
Father Keith is really turning out to be a great guy, I no longer get”have I not banned you from my church from him” Now its just smiles etc… Steenberg is a stunning venue, Emma and Erin really know their business. They are a very professional team. Mark and Jackie from Dream weddings had the party rocking way into the night. Sam and Mark you guys make a beautiful couple, thank you so much for allowing Heather and I to capture your special memories. Here are a few of their images for you to see.

Last week Heather and I got to take the photographs for a delightful young couple who traveled out to Cape Town from Germany to get married. The couple signed their register at the Westin Grand hotel. We went through to Bloubergstrand beach thereafter to do the ring ceremony. Here are a few of their images for you.

I have known Bev for what seems like ages, she is such a fun person. I knew that when I was approached to photograph her wedding there would never be a normal moment. Jannie on the other hand is a very relaxed calm person. They are going to suite each other very well. The couple were married at the Range Chapel in Tokai. Thereafter we went down to the Red Barn moth shellhole in Plumstead. Here is a selection of their images.

So! Wedding number four at Simondium. I do love this venue. This time Heather and I decided to stay over after the wedding. What a treat. We were treated like royalty. Lisa and Rosco were married at St George’s church on the Solms Delta farm near Franschhoek. At their reception they provided their guests with an interesting surprise. They had organized some light lanterns for them to send off into the sky. The sky was lit up with all the lanterns. They had let the control tower at Cape Town International airport know what was happening. Once they had all been sent up they phoned the airport only to hear that a few people had already phoned in to let them know. Here are a few of their images.

This has got to have been one of the busiest winter seasons that I have ever experienced. Heather, Max, Marc and I have been traveling around with a tour of Chinese people. They are all connected with the Hyundai motor group and they are out here to celebrate the world cup with us.

Anyway back to the wedding front, I first met Pietie and Heloise at Anja and Johann’s wedding earlier this year. Pietie was the MC at this wedding. Last weekend Heloise and Pietie were married at Simondium. The couple were so much fun to photograph. Here are a few of their images for you to see.

Two hundred rand notes… instead of confetti, lovebirds Theo and Deidre decided to have their congregation use shredded two hundred rand notes to shower over them as they left their ceremony at last weekends wedding. A novel idea I thought. I have been to weddings were the guests have attached money to the couples clothes, but this takes the cake. Over the next five weeks I will be covering four weddings at the beautiful Simondium country manor. This venue is a place that Heather and I have come to love. It is a very homely place. The staff lead by Haneke are so professional. It is a pleasure to photograph functions at this venue. Here are a few of Deidre and Theo’s images. Enjoy.

My good friend and organist Lesley Rix approached me some time ago after a wedding and asked me if I would photograph his daughters wedding. Leanne and Philip met whilst they were working on the passenger ships in the Mediterranean. They came out from England to get married in Simonstown. Their vows were proclaimed at the Methodist church on the hill and we then spent some time gallivanting around the town taking some fun images. The Cable Restorer restaurant in the harbour provided a perfect nautical setting for the reception. Here are a view of their photographs.

On Saturday Mark, Heather and I set of to capture the wedding of Meagan and Aubrey. The weather had finally cleared up after a week of serious rain. It was very special event for me because Mark and I had started out about twenty years ago in the wedding industry helping each other out with weddings. This was the first time in ages that we had worked together again. It is great to work with someone like Mark who has loads of experience. Anyway back to the happy couple. Meagan is a doctor and Aubrey is a lawyer. The couple tied the knot in St Mary’s Cathedral in Cape Town. We then went for a little jaunt around town in the hired limo, stopping here and there for some fun pix. We ended up at Suikerbossie for the reception. David and Mickey once again put on an amazing show. Here are a few of their images.
