I met with Candice and Dave on Sunday afternoon at their venue, Silvermist. They are getting married in a few weeks, so I decided that I would give them a little taster of what they can expect from me as their photographer. The wind was a little gusty and it was a bit cold. Hopefully on their wedding day the weather will be great. Here is a selection for you to see.

On Sunday morning I took some more family portraits for my good friends Bridgett, Brent and Mackenzie. You may remember the last pic’s that I took of Mackenzie. She really has grown into such a beautiful little girl. Here is a selection from the shoot.

Last Saturday came and went and the weather stayed on our side. After the rain that hit us the previous weekend, I was relieved to have a bit of sunshine. Eensgezind in Durbanville was the venue for Tamlyn and Grants wedding on the 28th August. Before I go on about what a stunning couple they were, let me tell you a little bit about Ananda, she is the coordinator at this beautiful venue. It struck me right from the start that this young lady knows what she is doing. The venue looked stunning. The food was delicious. It all just gelled. Talking of people knowing what they want, Tamlyn and Grant were incredible to work with. They new exactly what they wanted, we had done a full reckie of the venue and the country side a few weeks earlier. This sorted out a lot of time wastage. I am sure that the photographs will talk for them selves. Here are a few of them for you to enjoy.

The weather has been very good to me this winter when it came to photographing weddings. Last Saturday the clouds opened and the rain came down. It ruined all the fun plans that I had for Candace and Terence. We had been up to their venue at the Steenberg Golf estate; everything was planned and then, down came the rain! We used all of the backup plans, but it wasn’t the same. Emma and her team from Steenberg made up for the wet weather with a scrumptious dinner. Here are a few of their images for you to see.

I am very proud to announce that I received two awards last week at the annual SABIA “Brides Choice Awards” held at the Vineyard Hotel. The first was the Gold award in the photographic section for the Western Cape. A little later in the evening, I received the trophy for the top photographer nationally. Both these awards were proudly shared with my close friend and colleague Mark Engelbrecht. These awards are not the normal type of photographic ones. They are judged for by our clients. At this stage, I would like to say a huge thank you to all of my brides who voted for me. To me, your vote means that I have done my job as your wedding photographer. I look forward to providing the same top quality service for all my brides to be.

I could tell right from the start when we first met that Sam and Mark’s wedding was going to be a blast. You know that feeling that you get. This was to be the first of two weddings in a row at Christ Church Constantia followed by Steenberg Estate.
Father Keith is really turning out to be a great guy, I no longer get”have I not banned you from my church from him” Now its just smiles etc… Steenberg is a stunning venue, Emma and Erin really know their business. They are a very professional team. Mark and Jackie from Dream weddings had the party rocking way into the night. Sam and Mark you guys make a beautiful couple, thank you so much for allowing Heather and I to capture your special memories. Here are a few of their images for you to see.

Last week Heather and I got to take the photographs for a delightful young couple who traveled out to Cape Town from Germany to get married. The couple signed their register at the Westin Grand hotel. We went through to Bloubergstrand beach thereafter to do the ring ceremony. Here are a few of their images for you.

I have known Bev for what seems like ages, she is such a fun person. I knew that when I was approached to photograph her wedding there would never be a normal moment. Jannie on the other hand is a very relaxed calm person. They are going to suite each other very well. The couple were married at the Range Chapel in Tokai. Thereafter we went down to the Red Barn moth shellhole in Plumstead. Here is a selection of their images.

Our second appointment on Saturday was with Candace and Terence, like Sam and Mark they too are getting married at Christ Church Constantia and their reception is at Steenberg. Their date is one week later on the 21st August. This will be my 7th wedding for the Burchell clan. A family, I might add, that I am very fond of as I have got to know them well over the years. Anyway, here are a couple of their images for you.

It seems like it has been forever since I last uploaded a post to this blog. Anyway I can proudly say that the July holidays are over and the new season is upon us. On Saturday Heather and I went for a drive to see our August couples. We did a pre wedding shoot with them. Here are the images from Sam and Mark’s shoot they are getting married on the 14th August at Christ Church Constantia followed by Steenberg Golf estate.
